Abstract

Current link flooding attack (LFA) defense strategies highly rely on static network topology and precollected
traceroute record in current Internet, which are not fit for the MobilityFirst networks. We
propose the traffic scanning defense (TSD) mechanism against LFA in MobilityFirst. TSD is cooperative,
fast and stateless, and also scalable to implement in MFTP for MobilityFirst. Preliminary tests
show promising efficiency of TSD.
