An Electronic Payment Scheme based on Blockchain for VANETs

Abstract

As an important part of intelligent transportation system, VANETs can provide a variety of services
for driving vehicles, where the payment is the most important one. However, most schemes focus on
the services provided by VANETs and seldom involve payment, which makes it difficult for service
providers to provide long-term and stable services. In this paper, taking the parking toll management
system as a scenario, an electronic payment system based on blockchain is designed. Due to
the tamper-resistant and non-repudiation of the blockchain, the proposed scheme can guarantee the
interests of service providers and consumers. Through security analysis, the proposed scheme owns
high security.
